| On-Campus
or Online Degrees - MBA Degrees
A student may receive
instruction at Myers University in a number of innovative and flexible ways, all
of which are designed to meet the special needs of today's students. In
most cases, these formats do not limit the specific areas of specialization in
which a degree may be earned; they merely affect the method by which a student
pursues a course of study. Myers University offers the following options:
| Traditional
Program
Myers University offers traditional 15 week classes during the day and evening.
Students may take any combination of day, evening, or weekend classes depending
on their needs. Early morning and noontime classes offer an additional option
for downtown business persons who wish to take courses within their normal working
hours. During Fall and Winter semesters, classes meet once, twice, or three
times per week. Thus, students may schedule themselves to minimize their
days of attendance. | Myers
University On-Line Courses ( from
the Online Learning Center)
Initiated in 1995, the
Myers University On-Line Center enables students to complete course work electronically,
through the WWW, online discussions, and electronic mail. Students may use
either a home computer with an internet service provider account or request an
on-campus college account for working in the networked computer labs. The
content and objectives of on-line courses are identical to their traditional counterparts.
The prospective student
must be motivated for independent work that includes assuming responsibility for
communicating regularly with the instructor and completing assignments on time.
Students must also possess demonstrated current PC, internet, and e-mail skills
by having taken SC181 and/or MG281 or from on-the-job experience. A minimum
GPA of 2.5 is required to take on-line classes.
Courses offered on-line are listed in the Course Schedule published each semester.
For additional information, visit the Myers
University On-Line Center, or e-mail admissions@myers.edu.
| Evening
Weekend Program
This program is offered at the Midtown Chester campus for students who are unable
to
take courses during the week or who prefer weekend classes. A student can
advance toward a degree by taking classes on weekends and evenings. | |
Accelerated
Degree Completion Program
This program for adult transfer students is offered at Academic centers in Cleveland Heights, Rocky
River, and Eastlake. It is designed
for students with motivation and self-discipline. The program allows adult
students with significant work experience and prior college credits to accelerate
the completion of their bachelor's degree.
Because of the inherent challenges of the program, only candidates with at least
60 semester hours of transferable college credit and a cumulative GPA of 2.5
will
gain admissions to the accelerated degree completion program. Candidates
who
do
not
meet these criteria must take the College Placement Test to determine academic
level
and
suitability
for the program. Other placement
tests may apply.
| Cooperative
Education
The Cooperative Education Program provides students with exciting and challenging
work opportunities in corporations and businesses, government agencies, and non-profit
organizations. Students may receive college credits for these work experiences
and earn a salary while pursuing their degree. The program offers students
an opportunity to test career objectives in an actual employment situation in
their chosen field. While working, students gain valuable experience and
make contacts that can often lead to permanent positions upon graduation.
The co-op
experience can be used as major elective or Enterprise Activity credits
in the regular curriculum of study that the student chooses.
The placement of the co-op experience in the student's program of
study is carefully planned by the student and his/her co-op advisor.
To be eligible for the program, students must have sophomore standing,
a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, meet departmental requirements,
and receive approval of the appropriate academic program director,
dean, or chair. For more information on the Cooperative Education
Program, visit the Career Resource
Center.
| Internships
Students gain valuable
work experience by applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
An internship is generally completed in one semester. To be eligible for
an internship, a student must meet prerequisites and have a minimum cumulative
GPA of 2.5, permission of the appropriate director, chair, or dean, and permission
of the intern director. | | top
