ACADEMIC
ADVISING
Full-time counselors give every student in the program academic
advising in their major course of study and course selection.
Transfer students admitted into the program find the counselors
indispensable in ensuring that course credits are given in the
most fair and efficient manner possible.
TUTORING
All MU undergraduate students can take advantage of tutoring
in English, Math, Science, and/or Accounting. The Tutorial Services
Center also offers online tutoring in Math and English only click

ACADEMIC
COACHING
AC is that program where interested students receive one-on-one
accountability and rescitation sessions with a full-time professional
education specialist to learn study strategies for their specific
classes & general course of study.
COUNSELING
CAP staff provide counseling to its students in four domains:
career, academic, personal and post-graduate.
DEVELOPMENTAL INSTRUCTION
DI is a transitional course program established to aide students
in remediating areas in their academic life to ensure success
in college coursework. The subjects focused on are study skills
, business, grammar, reading, writing, and mathematics.
ALUMNI/PEER
MENTORSHIP
This specialized program is designed to provide a personalized
approach to the college adjustment process for new and continuing
students.
SUPPLEMENTAL
INSTRUCTION
SI is a peer-assisted academic support program designed to allow
tutors to provide new students with insight on teaching styles
of professors for their challenging math courses. The goal is
to help the students master the content on their own while discovering
how they learn and take tests best.
ACADEMIC
PROGRAMS/”PRO-SCHOLAR WORKS”
CAP offers programs to involve students in academic programs
and scholarly activities where they have traditionally been under-represented.
Such programs enable students to become acquainted with a wide
range of available career options and develop the awareness of
tools they may need to seek employment in newer career fields
still in infancy or realize their underlying desire to pursue
a career in research, teaching, or writing.
PROFESSIONAL
EXAM STUDY PREPARATION
Students are aided in applying for graduate school programs,
especially based upon available scholarships and opportunities
for research fellowships and internships, grants, loans, and
other awards that may be available. Insight into graduate and
other professional training programs is also available. If this

an Advisor.
OFFERING
OF AN ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
CAP has made available a financial scholarship for students of
above average academic performance who has severely limited financial
resources despite financial aid. Students are also guided in
how to apply for scholarships through private organizations and
professional associations.
