Students will review the writing process that will enable them to write brief
essays. The course will emphasize the importance of revision and the method
used. Students will learn the concepts necessary to write an essay for a specific
purpose. Punctuation and sentence grammar will also be reviewed.

This course will review the basic mathematical computations. The course will
cover whole numbers, fractions, decimals, estimations, ratio and proportions,
percent calculations, signed numbers, order of operation skills, and reading
data from a chart or a table.

Reviews basic math in the first three weeks of the course then moves on to
the basic algebraic concepts. The course will also cover solving simple algebraic
equations, linear equations, applications-word problems, graphing, polynomials,
and plotting points on a graph. | |

Students will gain an understanding of the college policies and procedures.
They will also gain a better understanding of their learning style and how
to adjust to instructor's teaching styles. Students will also learn how to
utilize the Internet in an effort to conduct research projects. They will also
gain experience in utilizing the institutions' e-mail network as a communication
mechanism. They will learn how to utilize critical thinking, time management,
and decision-making skills in an effort to have a successful college experience.
