Grants
A grant is a source of funding for school that does not have to be paid back.
1. Federal PELL Grant
Pell grant eligibility is determined by the Department of Education based on information reported by the student on the FAFSA application. A standard formula that considers income, assets, household size, and number of family members in college is used to determine whether or not a student is eligible. If a student is eligible for Pell grant assistance they may receive up to one half of their annual award amount per semester, based on enrollment.

2. Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
This fund may be available to undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need, that is, students with the lowest expected family contribution (EFC). The total amount of SEOG funds available is limited, and students are encouraged to apply early for best consideration.

3. Ohio Instructional Grant (OIG)
Provides need-based tuition assistance to full-time undergraduate students from low to moderate-income families. Students’ eligibility is determined by the Ohio Board of Regents based on information reported by the student on the FAFSA application. Students must submit their FAFSA by October 1 of each year in order to be considered for eligibility. These benefits are restricted to the student’s instructional (tuition) and general fees only.

4. Ohio Student Choice Grant (OCG)
Financial assistance for full-time students enrolled in a baccalaureate program at private colleges and universities in Ohio. Recipients must be Ohio residents. These benefits are restricted to instructional (tuition) and general fees only.

5. Part-time Ohio Instructional Grant Program (PTOIG)
Provides financial assistance to Ohio residents who are enrolled for part-time undergraduate study at eligible Ohio public and private colleges/universities. Eligibility is based on financial need. The total amount of PTOIG funds available is limited, and will be awarded to eligible students on a first come, first serve basis.
