Group Pages
 

Groups allow an instructor to group individual students and TA's together. Students within their group can send e-mail, exchange files, use a discussion forum, and utilize user Collaboration tools.

Instructors: how to Manage Groups.

 
Finding the Group Pages page
 
1. 
Open a course site.
 
2. 
Click the Communication button on the course menu.
 
3. 
Click the Group Pages link.
 
4. 
Select a group. If there are no groups listed, you are not in a group.
 
 
Group Discussion Board
 
  The Group Discussion Board is the same as the Discussion Board with the exception that only users involved in the group can view and post within the board. Discussion Board instructions.
 
Collaboration
 
  The group Collaboration tools are the same as the Collaboration tools outside of the group page with the exception that only users involved in the group can join the sessions. Collaboration tools instructions.
 
File Exchange
 
  Students and instructors can view and add files in this area.
 
  Add a file:
 
 
1. 
Click the File Exchange link.
 
 
2. 
Click the Add File button to upload a file.
 
  Open/Download a file:
 
 
1. 
Click the File Exchange link.
 
 
2. 
Click (or right-click, save as) the link and select to open or save the file to disk. To save the file when the option is not given, right-click the link and select Save Target As....
 
  Removing a file:
 
 
1. 
Click the File Exchange link.
 
 
2. 
Select the Remove button of the file wanting to be deleted.
 
 
3. 
Click the OK button of the dialog box that appears, otherwise click Cancel to cancel the removal of the file.
 
 
4. 
A message will display whether or not the file has been removed. Click OK to continue.
 
Send E-Mail
 
  The group Send E-mail works the same as sending an e-mail through the Tools area, but through the Groups Page only the users within the group are displayed. Instructions on sending an e-mail through Blackboard.
 
Group Members
 
  This displays the name and e-mail address of the users that belong to the group.
