Checking for new e-mail messages.
 
 
1.
Open a Web browser and go to http://www.dnmyers.edu/emailpolicychange.html and log into your e-mail account.
 
 
2.
Outlook Web Access will open to your Inbox automatically.
 
 
3.
To log off of Outlook Web Access, click Log Off in the right-hand side of the toolbar.
 
 
Composing a New Message
 
 
1.
Click the New button to compose a new message.
 
 
2.
Click the To... button to access the address book. You may also enter the e-mail address manually in the field next to the To... button using the semicolon and one space after each e-mail address. Example:
 
 
 
    Cc... and Bcc... allow you to input more e-mail addresses.
 
 
3.
Click the Attachments button to attach a file. Select the Browse button to select the file you wish to attach. Do not attach .txt (notepad) files.
 
 
4.
Enter the subject of your e-mail in the Subject field.
 
 
5.
Text formatting tools:
 
   
Paragraph Format - Select from multiple paragraph formats.
       
   
Font Type - Selects the font type.
       
   
Font Size - Selects the font size of highlighted or new text.
       
   
Font Color - Selects the font color of highlighted or new text.
       
   
Bold - Turn on and off bold of highlighted or new text.
       
   
Italic - Turn on and off italic of highlighted or new text.
       
   
Underline - Turn on and off underline of highlighted or new text.
       
   
Alight Left - Align paragraph left.
       
   
Align Center - Align paragraph center.
       
   
Align Right - Align paragraph right.
       
   
Decrease Indent - decrease indent of paragraph.
       
   
Increase Indent - Increase indent of paragraph.
       
   
Left-To-Right - Set text to read left-to-right.
       
   
Right-To-Left - Set text to read right-to-left.
       
 
6.
Using the text formatting tools type your message.

The toolbar:
     
   
Send - send the message
     
   
Save - save the message
     
   
Print - print the message
     
   
Add Signature - insert your signature in the body of the message (if you have not yet created one, select Options in the Navigation Pane, and click Edit Signature)
     
   
Check Spelling - check for spelling errors in the message
     
   
Attach File - add an attachment to the message
       
   
Check Names - check the names in the To, Cc, and the Bcc fields against the UW Global Address List and your own Contacts list
       
   
High Importance - mark the message as high importance
       
   
Low Importance - mark the message as low importance
       
   
Options - set the importance and sensitivity levels and the tracking options for the message. (delivery and read receipts).
       
   
Help - view help information starting with information about creating a new message
 
 
Deleting E-mail Messages
 
 
1.
Select the e-mail you wish to delete, and click the Delete icon in the toolbar.
 
 
2.
The deleted e-mail will appear in y our Deleted Items folder.
 
 
3.
Empty the Deleted Items folder by selecting the folder in the Navigation Pane and click the Empty Deleted Items icon in the toolbar.
 
 
Recovering Deleted Items
 
 
1.
Click the Deleted items folder in the Navigation Pane.
 
 
2.
Click the Recover Deleted Items icon in the toolbar.
 
 
3.
Select the e-mails that you want recovered, and click the Recover button in the toolbar. These messages will return to the Deleted Items folder.
 
 
4.
Click Close in the toolbar to return to the Navigation Pane.
 
 
Accessing the Outlook Web Access Help
 
 
1.
From any window in Outlook Web Access, click Help in the toolbar.
 
 
2.
The Help window will open to the section of Help that is most pertinent to the area of Outlook Web Access you are in.
 
 
3.
To read through the Help documentation on all Outlook Web Features, in the Help window, click the categories and topics listed on the left to view the content in the right-hand pane of the window.
