Creating a Folder
 

Computer and Internet Skills Menu
Computer and Internet skills you need to take a Web-based course

 

1.
Right click the window where you want a new folder to be created.
2.
 When the dialog window opens near your cursor after you right click, select "New" and then select "Folder."
3.
A new folder will be created and you can now rename your new folder
 

or

1.
At the top of your window where you would like a new folder, select "File," "New," "Folder." Does NOT work on your desktop.
2.
Now a folder will be created and you will then be able to name the folder.

or

1.
While saving a file during a "save as...," the dialog box has a "Create New Folder" (#2) option
2.
Again, a folder will be created and you will then be able to name the folder.
Copying and Moving Files
1.
Right click the file or folder you wish to move.
2.
Select "copy."
3.
Go to the place you wish to put that file or folder.
4.
Right click the screen and select "Paste."
You have now made a duplicate of the origional file or folder
To MOVE the file or folder repeat the steps, but only change the second step to instead of selecting "Copy," select "Cut."
