Using ZIPs and RARs |

After you have downloaded a file that is a Zip or a Rar all you have to do double click that file and it will open in a browser window. You can then drag the files within that RAR or ZIP. |

Double click the file you have downloaded (Zip or Rar). The figure below shows WinRAR. If you are using WinZip, WinZip is similar in almost all aspects. |

Put your cursor over the ICON of the file, click, and HOLD the click. (Now you are ready to drag.) |

Drag the file to a destination that you have to decide. (such as your desktop) |

(The file that you have moved could have been double clicked while it was in the winrar window, above, and opened without having to be moved.) |

Creating a RAR or ZIP |

Select files or folders and get them ready to be compressed. (for help with creating folders, copying and moving files, go HERE. |

Right click the selected files/folders select "Add to Archive... ". |
|

Create an Archive name. You can use the "Browse..." button to select a destination for your zip or rar file. |

Select the "Archive format" as "ZIP". To keep everything simple for people who will need to open the file, check it as a ZIP file |

You can select a "Compression method" to make the file smaller. Selecting a higher compression will result in more time it takes to compress the file. |

Select "OK" to create the zip file. |

WinZip Users: to compress go to WinZip and select the "Compress" option. |
