WHERE
CAN A PARALEGAL DEGREE TAKE ME?
Career
advancement in the area of law is limited only by the student's
desire to succeed. Although the
program is not a prelaw program, many Myers University
graduates enter law school.
Experienced
paralegals often advance into law office administration, paralegal
management and human resource management. Further, several Myers
University paralegal graduates have opted to start their
own business, free-lancing their services to local law firms and
corporations.
WHAT
ARE MY OPTIONS FOR A
PARALEGAL EDUCATION?
Myers provides three different
ways to earn a bachelor's degree in paralegal education. All
three require identical general education classes but differ in
the major classes, depending on which concentration suits the student's
career goals.

WHAT
IS A PARALEGAL?
Paralegals
work under the general supervision of an attorney as vital and skilled
members of the legal team. Paralegals are trained to perform detailed
legal research, conduct interviews and investigations, prepare pleadings
and other court documents, and perform numerous other tasks of equal
challenge.
WHO
SHOULD CONSIDER A PARALEGAL CAREER?
Consider a paralegal career if you are an analytical,
detail oriented person and have independent initiative. Whether
you are starting a paralegal career or seeking advancement in the
legal profession, David N. Myers University will prepare you.
WHAT
ARE THE EMPLOYMENT
PROSPECTS FOR PARALEGALS?
Most
authorities in the area of employment agree that demand for paralegals
will increase well into the next century. The American Bar Association
Journal and the United States Department of Labor both predict an
increase in paralegal jobs. Local demand for paralegals in Cleveland
increased throughout the1990s, and that trend is expected to continue
in the 21st century.
WHAT'S
DIFFERENT ABOUT
THE PARALEGAL PROGRAM
AT MYERS?
